Indoor and outdoor activitives in NY

These days Daddy is the sick one, and although we are all spending most of the days indoor still (watching "Little Einsteins" for kids etc....), Ella and Kristin had a walk in sunny Central Park yesterday. Ella loved the infant swing, and after playtime she had a nice rest in the stroller.
It is so much happening the last few weeks. Ella said clearly "mamma" about 3 weeks ago. And she says da-da, that we try to get to daddy...In the bathtub yesterday she repeated us saying "kvakk-kvakk" to the duck. The last month she has really been pulling herself up on her knees. And visiting a lot of new homes the last two weeks, Ella seems to love to explore and find new challenges. Now she lifts herself up all the way, and has a pretty good balance and strength standing up. Maybe she will be brave and let go soon to take a first step...?
Or maybe not quite there yet.

Ellas first Christmas – in New York!

Ella started sneezing as soon as we got off the 9 hour flight to New York, and then came the flu. But Ella is a strong girl, and with some medication, she managed to celebrate Christmas with the family. And open a lot of nice gifts. And she really enjoyed playing with her two cousins Sasha and Skai. But most of the days she has been sleeping and relaxing, and preferably on top of our chest.

The week before Christmas visiting family on the Westcoast

Ella and mummy went to Bergen/Norheimsund, while daddy had to go to work for Camper in Mallorca. We visited Ellas grandparents, aunties and uncles, and all Ellas cousins, and also had a visit to Ellas now very old great-grandmother (pictures).

The big Obama day! Wed. Nov. 5th 2008

Ella and the whole family was up at 5:00 am, Norwegian time. We watched history in the making!!! Obama was elected President of the United States. Ella and Kristin and Geraldy was glued to the TV and amazed experiencing history together!!!! At the same time we were on Skype with the whole family in NY.

I love my Daddy

Ella loves to sit on daddys shoulders, play and help open his birthday present (which was yesterday). Sunday the family went to visit Kristins colleague and their daugther Helene, that we last met when Ella was almost newborn. Helene is like 3 weeks ahead of Ella in age, but was crawling a lot faster than most kids that age. She is standing up, and actually just about to walk around! Maybe Ella learned some great techniques watching her!

This week we have been to six months control at the health station. Ella is now 64,5 cm and 7990 gram. Everyday we try a little bit of new foods, but so far with no luck. She has been eating porridge for a while, but this week she do not let me give her much of any food, only breast milk is ok. Maybe it is because she has had a cold the last days. Also, we pass by daddys work quite a lot, and Ella loves to play with the shoes, and will soon start to work in the shop (!). I think the Logo employees also likes Ella, and here are some photos one of them took of Ella at work!

6 months today!!

Ella is six months old today - September 12th! Some updated pictures of Ella reading, insisting on sitting (and not lying down...) in the baby carriage and posing happyily.

5 months and a big girl now

Hi. It has been a while since last update, but here are some photos of Ella. She had her vaccine last Wednesday, and her measurements were taken, 62,5 cm long and 7280 gram. The summer has been filled with family visits. Geraldys sister Christina came for a week in July, and the Grandparents came to help out in the flat and take Ella for walks while we tried to get some few things done. It was grandma that discovered Ellas first tooth 31st of July, and the week after she had 2 teeth at the bottom. Wow! And due to short sleeping pattern at night, we started to give some thin porridge. She loves it - and is a big girl to eat with spoon now... Some suggested that this night meal might make her sleep longer, but it has not really worked. Now we are just waiting for that day to come, when she will sleep through the night. But a part of short nights she is such a super girl, so happy and content. And not one day pass by without someone commenting about her eyes or hair. She has a lot of it! :-)

Holiday in Norheimsund, on the westcoast

Kristin and Ella went home for 2 1/2 weeks, visiting family and friends, also a visit to Ellas great grandmother Kristi who just turned 95!
